Engineering, manufacturing, delivery, installation and commissioning of a SCHNEIDER-Eckrohrkessels ERK 1200 designed as marine boiler in accordance with classification code Lloyds Register for the generation of saturated steam to operate historical plunger steam engines.
Due to limited space on the vessel this boiler is of special design. Steam drum and tube cage are delivered separately. They are located on different decks. The installation of the boiler is carried out on board.
A particular challenge was bringing in the boiler parts through the existing portholes of this historic motor yacht.
A similar obstacle was installing the steam over flow tubes from the evaporation part to the steam drum and the down comer tubes from the steam drum back to the evaporation part through the several decks.
Above described works done in accordance with and under supervision of the classification authorities Lloyds Register.
Commissioning carried out under supervision of Lloyds Register inspector under regular operation conditions at sea.
